The Process
This is the ideal process I follow, tailored to fit the unique requirements, budget, and timeline of each project. It's flexible and collaborative, ensuring that both client and designer work together toward a successful and fulfilling outcome.
Discovery
We hop on a 30-minute call to outline the full scope of the project, deliverables, timeframes, budgets, etc. Next, I’ll send over a project proposal with agreed-upon details for you to sign off and we can begin!
Strategy
The process begins with a deep dive into understanding your brand, your audience, your product, and the market you operate in. The focus is on identifying the core challenges and opportunities and uncovering key insights that shape the design strategy, expressed through a user journey and mood board(s). We will meet at this point to make sure we're aligned and further refine the direction together.
Design
Once we agree on a design direction, I start developing ideas into a well-thought-out spatial experience. I create clear layouts, realistic visualisations of the facade and interiors, and design custom fixtures and furniture. Branding, wayfinding, and storytelling are woven into the spatial logic from the start, alongside lighting and technology strategies tailored to the project. We then meet for a presentation where I walk you through the design and gather your feedback. Once the feedback is applied, we’ll meet again for a final discussion to ensure everything aligns perfectly.
Detailing
After I receive a sign-off on the design, we move to detailing, where I provide accurate construction drawings along with build instructions and material specifications. This stage also includes overseeing prototyping and sampling, and providing an uncosted Bill of Quantities (BOQ) and cost estimations. This ensures a smooth transition from design to execution.
Execution Support
During the build, I offer ongoing support to the contractor on-site, responding to on-site queries, reviewing material samples, approving mock-ups, and conducting site visits to ensure the project is executed in line with the original vision.
